These terms govern your use of the VeldGuide app and this website, provided by [REGISTERED COMPANY NAME, ADDRESS] ("VeldGuide", "we"). By using VeldGuide you agree to them.

Your account

You must be at least 13 years old and provide accurate information. You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your sign-in secure.

Acceptable use

• No harassment, hate, or illegal content — in sightings, photos, notes or corrections.
• No spam, scraping, bulk downloading, or attempts to bypass moderation.
• No false or deliberately misleading reports that could endanger people or wildlife.
• No use of other users' data outside the app.

We may remove content, and suspend or terminate accounts, for violations — with or without notice.

Your content

You keep ownership of what you post. You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide licence to host, reproduce, display and moderate it for the purpose of running the service. Sightings you submit are public once approved, including their location — see the Privacy Policy. We maintain a zero-tolerance approach to objectionable content: you can report content or users from within the app and by emailing support@veldguide.com, and we act on reports within a reasonable time.

Wildlife and safety — please read

VeldGuide is informational only. Kruger's animals are wild and dangerous. Information in the app — sightings, distances, gate times, species guidance — may be incomplete, delayed or wrong. Always follow park rules, stay in your vehicle unless in designated areas, keep a safe distance from all wildlife, and never rely on the app for safety decisions. You are responsible for your own safety in the field.

Availability and changes

We provide the service "as is" and may change, interrupt or discontinue features at any time. Data is contributed by users and curated by our team; we do not guarantee its accuracy or completeness.

Disclaimers and liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we exclude implied warranties and are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for losses arising from decisions you make in the field. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before a claim. Nothing in these terms excludes rights you have under the Consumer Protection Act or other law that cannot be excluded.

Intellectual property

VeldGuide, its name, logo and app content (excluding your content and third-party materials) belong to us or our licensors. Third-party species text and images are used under their respective licences, credited in the app.

Termination

You can stop using VeldGuide and delete your account at any time. We may suspend accounts that break these terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa, and disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of its courts.
